K Rivet Amico

Professor of Health Behavior and Health Equity

Dr. Amico is a Professor in the School of Public Health. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology and has spent the last 25 years working in social behavioral science. Her research includes HIV treatment and prevention, understanding and promoting maternal and adolescent health and well-being in marginalized communities, intersectional stigma, and the application of implementation science in the development of biomedical HIV treatment and prevention tools. Dr. Amico has used mixed methods in a variety of contexts, including intervention design and evaluation, implementation science hybrids, and community based program design and evaluation. Her work is in the US, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa involved in HIV-network clinical trials.
