Ella August is a Clinical Associate Professor in Epidemiology, a Faculty Associate in Global Public Health, and a Faculty Affiliate for the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at thr University of Michigan. August recieved her Ph.D. in Philosophy and Epidemiology in 2005 from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
