Raquel Parrine is a postdoctoral fellow in Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan. She holds a PhD in the same field from U-M and an MA in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP). Her research focuses on feminist and queer literature and visual art in Latin America from the 1980s to the present, examining themes of gender, sexuality, and resistance. Raquel's work has been featured in journals like Revista Estudos Feministas, Línguas &Letras, and Revista Estudos Anglo Americanos. Recognized with the 2023 Graduate Essay Prize for the Peter C. Marzio Award from the International Center for the Arts in the Americas at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, she is also a member of the feminist collective sycorax, contributing to significant translations, including works by Silvia Federici, Fred Moten, and Stefano Harney.
