The growing field of women’s and gender studies in China has generated large demands for new feminist knowledge produced transnationally. An increasing number of young college educated students has also expressed strong interest in feminist concepts and issues beyond the Chinese borders. To meet these local needs, Professor Wang Zheng will conduct a translation project for the purpose of providing updated feminist scholarship for the on‐going curriculum transformation in higher education in China.

Starting in November 2015, Professor Wang will identify and reach a team of translators for this task, and together will select and translate feminist texts that reflect new developments in gender studies globally. Professor Wang will host a translation workshop for two days in China in the summer of 2016 to enhance the quality of translation. This is also intended to be an effort to build a network of young feminist scholars who may further engage in other feminist knowledge production projects.
