In 2022, Professors Carmel Price and Natalie Sampson (UM-Dearborn) and community partners received an IRWG Faculty Seed Grant for their project titled Arab American Women: Environmental Justice Narratives. The project explores the narratives of Arab American women experiencing environmental injustice and leading efforts to address it.

Their team was also awarded an Engage Detroit grant and will be hosting an exciting event that is related to the IRWG project on July 8th in Detroit. The event is focused on local women of color who are leaders in the environmental justice movement and is open to the public.
