Tahleen Lattimer

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Disability Health & Wellness; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Tahleen A. Lattimer is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan’s Center for Disability Health & Wellness in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. As a health communication scholar, her research explores the relationship between health and media as it relates to disability populations across the lifespan, bridging topics of disability, aging, gender, and health equity. She examines how marginalized communities navigate healthcare systems, communicate about health, and use media for advocacy, support, and education. Dr. Lattimer employs qualitative, quantitative, computational, and community-engaged methods to examine health disparities and promote person-centered care. Her scholarship explores how communication and media shape experiences of care, with attention to caregiving, reproductive health, digital advocacy, and the pursuit of health equity.
