Hitomi Tonomura

Hitomi Tonomura's research interests include masculinity and gender, warfare and sexual violence, and diversity and exclusion, especially in a millenium of premodern East Asian societies in transformation.

She specializes in the studies of war, gender, violence and masculinities in various parts of the world with a focus on the history of Japan and East Asia.
