About
Clare Croft is a dance theorist and historian, and sometimes a curator and dramaturg. She is the author of Jill Johnston in Motion: Dance, Writing, and Lesbian Life and the editor of The Essential Jill Johnston Reader--and both books are out from Duke UP as of October 2024. Clare is also the author of Dancers as Diplomats: American Choreography in Cultural Exchange and the editor of Queer Dance: Meanings and Makings. She Associate Professor of American Culture, and holds a PhD in Performance as Public Practice from the University of Texas-Austin.
