About

My research focuses on trauma recovery and resilience among immigrant survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), with a particular emphasis on South Asian women. Grounded in my clinical and teaching background in mental health nursing, I explore the social, cultural, and psychological dimensions that influence healing. I use a mixed-methods approach, combining in-depth qualitative interviews with advanced quantitative techniques such as structural equation modeling (SEM), exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA/CFA), and psychometric validation. My current work involves developing and validating tools to assess internal and external motivators for trauma recovery. I am trained in trauma-informed methodologies, ensuring that my research practices are ethically grounded and survivor-centered. Through this work, I aim to identify protective factors and community-based strategies that empower survivors to reclaim their agency and thrive.
