Glen Berryman (they/them) is a 5th year Ph.D. Candidate in the American Culture department at U-M. Their dissertation project “Taking My Culture Back!”: Race, Rock, and the New Millennium examines how Black artists and fans utilize DIY culture to reclaim rock, a genre that is typically coded as white and male. In their free time, Glen likes to garden, go to concerts, play sand volleyball, and try new restaurants in Ann Arbor, Ypsi, and Detroit.
