About

Dr. Zochowski is a Research Investigator in the Center for Disability Health and Wellness in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  She holds a PhD and MS in Health Infrastructures and Learning Systems and an MBA in Nonprofit and Organizational Management.  Her research addresses systemic barriers to accessing healthcare and clinical service transformation with a focus on neurodiversity-affirming care and reproductive health.  Melissa's research examines the impact that systems and organizations have on the delivery of healthcare for women and their families. Her mixed methods dissertation seeks to understand the impact of maternity deserts, the quality of pregnancy-related care delivered in the Emergency Department, and the relationship with maternal mortality and morbidity.
