The Association of Postcolonial Thought recognizes and fosters the continued vitality of postcolonial criticism and theory, and addresses the dearth of institutional structure for this field for North American academics.

This symposium, held at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, is the second in a sequence planned by the Association of Postcolonial Thought and is aimed at fostering the future of the field.
