Ruth Zielinski

Ruth Zielinski's program of research relates to body image and sexual health focusing on the intersecting our understanding of pelvic floor muscle changes associated with childbirth and aging and the social stigma of body image. Zielinski has an ongoing project in South Sudanese refugee communities focused on improving maternal mortality and morbidity through programs that educate and empower community members to support other women through pregnancy and childbirth. Zielinski also collaborates with the UM Midwifery service on dissemination of data related to respectful maternity care.
