Melissa Phruksachart

Melissa Phruksachart (prook-sa-shart) is Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Film, Television, and Media at the University of Michigan as well as a core faculty member in the Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies program. She received her Ph.D. in English Literature from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2016. Her current research and teaching center the creative economies of Asian American film and media; women, queer, and trans of color feminist epistemologies; food and/as diasporic media; and the political economies of diversity and multiculturalism.
