Melisa Nicole Scott

Melisa joined the University of Michigan Nurse-Midwifery Service in 2011 after graduating from the University of Michigan Midwifery Program. She has over sixteen years’ experience as a nurse in the birth center as well and comes with a strong belief in women’s ability to birth. Her particular interest is in promoting breastfeeding among all women, but particularly women of color. Her clinic is at East Ann Arbor Health Center.

Scott is a co-facilitator for "Our Village," a support group for Black pregnant and parenting moms in Michigan. She has recently received grant funding from MM-CHS which has taken the group to a new level in terms of data collection and qualitative questions.
