About
I use consent as a lens to study and design solutions for computer-mediated sexual violence, which has historically exhibited stark gender differences in demographics that are victims and perpetrators. My research has been funded by the National Science Foundation to study sexual consent practices of online daters as a way to understand why sexual violence occurs through social computing platforms. My lab also designs, develops, and tests how emerging technologies can be used to intentionally mediate interpersonal consent exchange, typically through participatory design with stakeholders of diverse gender and sexual identities.
