About
David M. Halperin is a classicist by training; his early publications were on Hellenistic Greek poetics and ancient Greek philosophy. He currently works in the history of sexuality, lesbian and gay studies, and feminist and queer theory. In addition to co-founding GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, he is the author or editor of ten books, including One Hundred Years of Homosexuality, The Lesbian and Gay Studies Reader, Saint Foucault, How To Do the History of Homosexuality, Gay Shame, How To Be Gay, and The War on Sex. Among his courses are "The Culture of AIDS," "Ancient Greek/Modern Gay Sexuality," and "Bad Homosexuals."
