Assistant Professor of Music

Dr. Zeynep Özcan explores biologically inspired musical creativity, interactive and immersive environments, and generative systems. Her artistic research practice involves audio programming, sonification, visualization, novel interfaces for musical expression, and multi-scale interactive sound and media art installations. As an experimental and electronic music composer, she is interested in narratives, and exploring sound to create an immersive storytelling experience. Currently, she is working on a sonification project where she sonifies viral images of international women’s resistance during protests.
