Dr. Garcia conducts interdisciplinary action research that studies how girls’ intersectional experiences impact their persistence and achievement in computing. Her work challenges stereotypes of girls of color as passive victims of technology and provides a counter-narrative that highlights girls’ generative and agentic relationships with technology.
