Professor Eiler’s research includes culturally-responsive, community-based prevention and intervention (i.e. Mental health assessment and treatment) practices. She has worked on multiple SAMHSA grants and received foundation funding to support suicide prevention, intervention and post-vention efforts in North American Indian communities. Professor Eiler gathers both quantitative and qualitative data with community participants to help inform best practice standards established and implemented into community-based programming. Professor Eiler is the past president of NASW-Michigan chapter and has great interest and knowledge around ethical social work practice. She is interested in further exploring ethics and integrated health models across health science disciplines.
