Heidi Bennett
Heidi Bennett (she/her) has been a member of the IRWG administrative staff since 2013. Her responsibilities include event planning, communications, and project managment for IRWG. She also serves as the project coordinator and academic counselor for our NIH-funded Student Opportunities for AIDS/HIV Research (SOAR) program. Heidi oversees all public events, workshops, and programming, as well as IRWG's communication strategy, website, newsletters, and social media. Heidi supervises student staff and the IRWG graduate fellow for exhibits.
Heidi holds an M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. in Secondary Education and Communications from Central Michigan University. She is a member of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and currently serves on the Assessment Committee for the Advising Council at UM (ACUM) and as IRWG's DEI Unit Lead. Previously, she served on the board of the University Event Planners (UEP) and Kickshaw Theatre, a non-profit professional theatre company based in Ann Arbor.
