Andrea Marquez

Andrea Marquez is a graduate student at the University of Michigan, where she is getting her master's degree in Educational Equity, Justice, and Social Transformation. She is originally from El Paso, Texas, and previously lived in Los Angeles, California, where she got her bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies. She has experience in the field of public health and substance misuse prevention, working with communities across the country on developing youth leadership and agency. Andrea’s educational aspirations lie in increasing college access for marginalized students of color and developing stronger family-school-community relationships. Andrea is excited to join the IRWG team and continue learning about community advocacy and research through an interdisciplinary lens.
