Annette M. Masterson is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Information at the University of Michigan. Her research centers on intimacy with artificial intelligence and robotics as a way to understand the social impact of personal technologies. She earned her Ph.D. in Media and Communication from Temple University, studying the sex robot industry from critical and institutional perspectives. She previously was a Center for Humanities at Temple fellow and Media Coordinator at Warner Bros.’ marketing agency, Hearts & Science.
